I'm thinking of taking the SATII Chem at the end of my sophomore year, do you guys consider this a good idea? In terms of difficulty, how is the chem SATII compared to the other science SATII's (bio, physics, etc.)? What would you consider the best way to prepare for the chem SATII? Also, would taking the SATII writing at the end of my sophomore year be a good idea as well? Thanks a lot in advance.

I did the same thing as you and got a 690. Wasn't too happy about that. The thing is one year of Honors Chem did not do it for me, I studied my ass for 2 weeks. If you feel confident in Chem, go for it, if not either choose to invest a lot of cramming or rethink it. In terms of difficulty it depends on the person, but most would agree that physics is harder and bio is easier.
It would NOT by a good idea taking SAT II writing. You get a lot of practice as a junior with essays esp in AP eng and AP US History that somewhat helps.
