I went from 1400 to 1590 in only two... of course the first time I took it was in the beginning of 7th grade, 4 months after moving from France, and the final time wasn't for another three years.

My daughter went up on both math and verbal each time she took the SAT. Over a year's span of taking it three times, her combined score increased 200 points!
She did not take any prep courses or do anything in the way of studying either. She merely took a practice test the night before each one. I think maturity and experience have the most to do with the score increases. As she has read more literature and taken more difficult school courses, the SAT has become a little less threatening.

My verbal score wouldve gone up if it wasnt so hard compared to all the practice tests I had. I feel much better about the Oct ACT though.
Nov 2002 (590v/630m)
Oct 2003 (580v/740m)
Nov 2003 (Hoping 650/800)
Hoping.
Im taking the December SAT-II Hoping for a 650 Writing and Chem, and 700-750 MathIIc
I want to get accepted to Cornell but im really needing good scores for scholarships at Purdue if I decide not to go to Cornell

What did her combined score increase to? I mean my composite score increased 300 points but I started out at a meager 1100 in eigth grade.
| By Miseryxsignals (Miseryxsignals) on Tuesday, October 28, 2003 - 05:54 pm: Edit |
1180-1240-1430 (last one taken june)
Went up in both subjects each time, although i have a friend who just took the november SAT and her score went from:
1430-1300
So she had a drop of 130! Actually most of the people i know had their scores drop about 50 points for the november SAT.

I must say that I agree with PARENTOFTEEN.
She states that maturity and experience has a lot to do with an increased score.
I wholeheartedly believe that that is one of the hidden secrets of an improved sat score.
