Discus: SAT/ACT Tests and Test Preparation: October 2003 Archive: How can I SAT tutor?

Hey I got an 800 on the math portion of the SAT & I wanted to SAT tutor. I don't really have time for a steady job, but I have time to tutor for an hour or two maybe twice a week or so. My town doesn't have any bulletin boards I know of that I can post on, so I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of how to promote my tutoring. Also does $25 per hour seem fair? (Around here an hour w/a teacher is about $50-$65 & a professional SAT tutor is about $80-$100/hour).

Offer free tutoring first before you start charging money.

I already tutor free for honor society. Oh yea I also used to work @ a tutoring center, but that was several yrs. ago so I don't have any contacts from that anymore. Tnx 4 the idea though.
