I took last Tuesday's PSAT and I'm currently a high school sophomore. Does this PSAT count for scholarships if I did well on it? Or do only junior PSATS count for National Merit? I've been hearing different answers and just want to get it clarified.
I messed up on the gridded response for math. I figured out how to do about two of them at the last second. The verbal part was really easy compared to other SAT practice tests I've taken.

I'm pretty sure it's only juniors that get in the National Merit competition. My sophomore year I scored in the 98th percentile and was told I was ineligible for the National Merit Scholarship. Junior year I qualified.

Yeah, you do not qualify for a National Merit Scholarship unless you are a junior.
