I have to do an essay on something during the Middle Ages, and it had to include England as its primary focus.

I was wanting to do the innovations of alchemy in England, but I cannot find books at my library about it.

I was thinking of changing it over to something along the lines of, "The development and influence of middle age literature in England"

Any other interesting ideas that anyone else might have? I really would appreciate anything (and quickly)

I personally am fascinated by the Catholic Church during that period and on to the Reformation. Maybe the changing message of the Church and how it was reflected in art of the time?
