my sat verbal is going back!!!: 800 ,800 ,790 ,700 ,700 (omg!!!!!) a 650 and now i actually (i can't believe this) scored a 650 today (these are all from 10RS)
how could this be? how can scores just keep falling back more and more? i can't figure this out......anyone *any* explanations?

Haha that happened to me, my score gradually went up from a 650 to 770 - then rapidly back down to a 650.

no i wasn't cheating...... i can't figure it out ....i mean hello? i had a 800 on the PR diagnostic too.
INTERESTED DID YOURE SCORE BACK UP AGAIN?....do people go "dumb" doing the sats i mean my maths is in the same range (400 - 550) but 200 points down on the verbal how could that be? ...is my brain maxed out? am i working too hard? should i give up working on maths and focus on verbal now? ....but my maths is really bad and i'm scoring for a 1400+..........maybe be working too haard on the maths is bringing down my verbal?should i stop the maths then?

maybe you're subconsciously guessing at the answers based on the pract tests you've already done...like...oh that sounds like answers they usually do....whereas before you were more critical?

whats going on with me?? i took an other one tody and got a 650 again ........i just feel like giving this all up ...before at least i kept saying to myself "Verra an 800 verbal is big big deal not everybody gets one--if you can nail the verbal you can get the maths too"....now i feel i'm just an other dumb loser with no shot this....i work my ass off all day and still end up with ••••.the SAT's thing is eating me dry...

3 explanations:

1. You were cheating previously. In reality, you were never good at the verbal portion.

2. Princeton Review is not like the 10 RS. Some practice tests are way harder, while others are extremely easy. I wonder which one you chose...

3. You stopped taking those drugs. You should have seen some of the people at my old school when they gave up their mary jane for a day...

I suggest you stop prepping and just keep doing whatever you were doing before your verbal tests. If these tests weren't altered, then obviously those methods worked. Take the SATs sometime this winter, see what you get, and just go from there. After all 650+500=1150 isn't such a bad score. You still have a shot at your local community college, so don't be so depressed!

i have a possible explanation. Not enough sleep? Even slight sleep deprivation for me has ill effects on my CR section from about 4-6 wrong total after a nap to more like 8-12 wrong if i take one right after school. Hope that helped.

sunshine!! happiness! joy!!! i usually prep for the verbal at night after doing all the maths and stuff! so today for a change i took the may97 from the 10rs and got a 790 (i bubbled one wrong)so i guess it was sleep deprivation and stuff like that...i was just waaaay too tired but i still thought that i had to do the verbal to keep my scored mantained ...but the overload was driving me ...i thoguht the harder you work the better score you get ...but obviously that wrong ...now i'm going to catch my much needed

I've been going through 10RS and I started off at 690, went right to 780 and back now at about 730. I feel that the tests have got harder...vocab is tougher and CR questions are trickier.

boy some people think they r being subtle : first :"youre media whore" then "you mess with me and xiggi you mess with the wrong people" then "with that sorta •••• no community college is taking you in" now the most classic bit (this one i love) "you were never good at the verbal portion" then "don't worry the community colleges will take you in"

bah it's not good as i want it to be.. the best i've scored was 700... i can score down to like 650.. so i am in the 660ish range.. but seriously.... when i take the verbal.. it's either i majorly fu8ck up in the sentence completions/analogies or reading comprehension.. it's always one or the other.. which has been really aggravating.. but i have to admit.. i havent' been practicing like i should bec. i've been soooo busy... sigh.. such is life...

I am not sure when my d-day is going to be.. (you mean the sat day right?) It's probably going to be in may and june and next october(taking it 2-3 times).. so i got alot of time.. how about you high vocab? Well, I got tutored for a year and consistently scored 600 and 610. One day I got lucky and scored a 650. Seriously a whole year of tutoring. Then I quit for a month and took the SAT, I got a 660 in April. Did absolutely nothing for another month and got a 720 in verbal. I have never taken another test, but I guess if I slacked off as hard as before, I could have reached an 800.
