Im also taking the PSAT looking to get into that society ..i have a 750 on math average but only a 650 on verbal any tips to boost this up>

Hi, I'm a freshman taking the PSAT this Oct.My question: If I bomb out this year but then do superbly junior year will the National Merit people take into account the earlier score when they decide on awards. Also colleges don't know unless you specify, right?

Marie, only your JUNIOR scores count.

Colleges buy the PSAT information but do not use it for admission purposes, only for recruiting.

Sigh. I've done some major slacking off. I got a horrid 1100 on my SAT last May (soph. year), and my past two PSATs weren't so hot (146 and 148). I've been doing some intensive studying with Gruber's recently.

I've typed the entire 3000+ word list into CueCards. I'm starting with the basic strategies today, and hopefully by midweek I can be done with the math refresher (what I need most).

I just want to get a top score from my school, I'm so stressed about it.

Ugh.. I too am stressed.. NO TIME to prepare whatsoever.. and the days are just looming toward me.. My vocab is not polished at all.. my reading comprehension is the usual with my add.. same with my math.. and writing is just horrible as ever! Still striving for 222-230... :/

Grr as my friend would say, "time to ace this sh1t"
