My friends say this is a joke exam to take and is majorly opinion based. My school offers it, but I'd rather take AP Chemistry instead so I want to learn AP Psychology on my own and i'm also taking a normal Psychology test, so I was wondering how difficult do you guys think it would be for me to pass the AP Psy test if I do not take the actual course, but just regular Psych? Also, if my school does not allow me to take the course at that school, I can goto another high school and take it, correct? Thanks

I'm sorry to steal your post, but I'm also planning to self-study for the AP Psychology exam this year, and I was wondering if I need any actual textbooks. I have no background at all in psychology. I was planning to study solely from Barron's and REA. From what I've read, psychology is super easy with (misleading) difficult terms.

self studying is fine. I was told that the test was really hard, so after taking my AP Psych class (complete blowoff, no preparation at all), I didn't study at all until after I got on the bus to take the test, and I got a 3. If you study for a day or two, you should at least make a 4.

I thought the test was kinda hard...The MC were...The essays were good though I'm not much for sciences generally.

Easy as heck.

Yup. Very easy to independent study. Esp considering the first free-response this year had almost nothing to do with psychology, it talked about the normal distribution and statistics. ;) Very easy 5.

Thanks, would anyone recommend any way to study for it, for a 5 that is.

It's not that bad. My teacher for psych has been teaching it for over five years and 99%+ have gotten 3's or higher.

This test was a breeze! What was with that statistics essay anyway? I'd just get the review book (Princeton is what I always use) and study. I never read my text book and managed a 5 easily, although the class was really fun, and I don't know that I would trade it for A.P. Chem (ughh). This is much, much easier than Comp or US History.

Lol ya between the two i'd totally go Chem since i gotta take the course to get a 5. Thanks for the advice everyone. Anymore advice would be great
