very interesting...how do you do calculations like taking the square root of a number in scientific notation like (1.6*10^(-27)) w/out a calculator?

The only math they give you on that test is very simple. You dont need to use math to solve most of the problems anyways since they are mostly concept.

You don't need a calculator on the test...none of the math is that involved.

That should be easy to do in your head without a calculator!
Note that:
(1.6*10^(-27)) = 16*10^(-28)
and since sqrt (a*b) = [sqrt(a)]*[sqrt(b)]
and sqrt(10^2x) = 10^x,
the answer comes out nicely as 4.0*10^(-14)

Yeah, all the numbers they give you might look intimidating,but you can use basically the same process professormom did and they do work out quite pretty.
