Hi,
I've looked through some past posts, and I still cannot decide. I have already take hp bio and chem, and I can definitely say I enjoyed bio a lot more. But I must mention that I had a great bio teacher, and a horrid chem teacher.
I'm afraid I'm leaning more towards ap bio because my chem teacher tainted chem for me and I don’t want to let that determine my future.
Thanks

If you enjoy biology more and the teacher is better, then you should take AP bio.

Well you never mentioned any positive things about chem and you listed 2 good things about taking bio so the answer should be obvious. However, Biology is a crappy class and I don't know what you see in it :) Chem is 999999999x better.

NOT! Bio is much better. And chem is way too stereotyped as a fundamental science, biology is a highly successful field to work in right now. But of course I'm just being biased against chemistry because I've had it with 1.0*10^-23+0.1348173480137408.

Bio = boring as hell. You do nothing but memorize crap about the human body. How interesting? Not!

Chem = fun as hell. Learning about all the different chemicals, properties of elements and all that is awesome.

chem is the WORST to take, stick w/ bio unless you plan on majoring in chemistry in college or something

i heard bio is easier. dunno, took chem last year, wasnt too bad, but looking forward to bio this year.

Yes, Bio is easier. If you are going to courseload or difficulty, go with Bio. But Chem is better in every other way.

Bio AP test is much easier.

If you like math, go with AP Chem. If you don't, go with AP bio.

Bio is easier in that... you don't have to think much. But it's a lot of memorization work... *shivers at the thought of Kreb Cycle and cellular respiration* not fun stuff. :(

Though DNA technology section was really cool! ^_^

imo bio is a great field, but AP BIO is pure, useless memorization. how is knowing the order of photosynthesis or cellular respiration gonna impact ones life?

:(.. i gotta take ap chem :(

Joel Set - nice. you'll love it.

AP bio - never taken it yet but i've used their textbook and some review guides for the SAT II (to later find out that it wasnt nearly as detailed as AP)...the cell resp, krebs cycle, calvin cycle etc arent that bad - it becomes much much easier to memorize it when you see a diagram of it etc.. i've heard this test is easier and the class contains some smart ppl/not so smart ppl

AP chem - heard that it is a difficult class with only the smartest ppl inside it - many kids are scared to enroll in it to recieve a 45 average (its not that hard but for some ppl it may be)...personally, i'd say that if you liked honors chem and want to take the SAT II in chem wait for AP chem then take the sat2, and if your school AP chem teacher is great then you are set

•••• i made a 92 in adv chem and sometimes i had difficulties i admit.. but later on it wasn't that bad.. so hopefully ap chem wont' be that bad

Is it possible to study for the SAT II chem before taking AP chem, or halfway through the AP chem course? I was planning to take it senior year, but i would have to take the SAT II chem in December for it to count in applications, so i was wondering if I could learn alot of it on my own.
thanks!
