My school offers all the AP courses that the CB has to offer. We can only take APs starting with junior year until senior year.
Junior year I took AP US (got a 5)
This current year, Senior year, I'm taking:
AP GOVT and POLITICS
AP ENGLISH COMP AND LIT
AP SPANISH LANG
AP PSYCHOLOGY
AP ECONOMICS
My question is: Seeing that we can only take a maximum of 14 APs (7 period schedule X 2 years) and having taken 6 APs... is this schedule adequate for an ivy? Is it a slacker schedule or is it something else?

you sound paranoid. That schedule is good. Can hardly be better w/o killing yourself.
maximum # of APs != the most rigorous. (as long as you don't have a dozen other kids in your school taking 14 APs...)

*GASP* only 5 AP classes? Whatever were you thinking? The ivies will take one look at your schedule and think "slacker" and proceed to toss your application in the trash.

Now come on! First off, its 6 APs!
I'm not paranoid, but you know, there are a lot of students out there killing themselves with Calculus BC, Chemistry, etc.
There are a number of students in my school that have taken over 10 APs. Some are seniors this year and are taking 7 periods (a whole day) of nothing but APs.
Thanks for the input... just wanted to be sure.

How many AP courses did you guys take? Where did you get accepted?

I had quite a few college/honors classes and only 2 APs (US History (11) and English (12)). My school offers 3-4 APs only though.

Ouch
I have mostly A's on my honors courses. AP's are on the B-C area.

Here's a little more info.
Where'd you go?

yes, your schedule is adequate. make sure that you do VERY well on your AP exams in order to prove that you can handle what they test - this should forestall the admissions officers from thinking that you might have done worse in another AP class that you didnt enroll in. good luck, and i'm sure you are fine as long as you do very well on your AP exams

took 3 junior year,
taking 4 senior year.
Thats 7 AP courses. My school offers English, SPanish, French, Environmental Science, Music THeory and Bio AP which I didn't take. Doesnt really bother me because I took the most rigorous courseload except for my English and SPanish classes.

my bad. Can anyone who has taken it tell me how difficult it was?

well I can tell you this. My friend took the class, never paid attention, never did homework, never studied. He managed to get a 4 on the test, 19% in the class, and expulsion due to low grades.
