Before I took the AP Stats exam, I wanted to know whether or not it was considered cheating to save formulas in my TI-83 calculator. I asked my teacher, and he said it was fine and that they did not check anyway. Although I knew they wouldn't check, I wanted to make sure I was following the rules, so I called the AP phone number and asked someone at ETS... he checked and said it was fine. So, of course, I put some formulas in for the test... Should I feel guilty?

Definitely it's ok. It's more important to know how to use the formulas than to memorize it. I hate memorization. =)

i had em. though, it wasnt my conscious that made me feel guilty, but rather the lax difficulty of the test having the formulas at hand. i think i had 25 minutes left over on multiple choice.

!!Finite Opus Conrat!!
How does it matter?
Is it cheating to be more intelligent than other test takers? Should I feel guilty if Spanish is my mother language and I take a spanish test? How is this any different? You can program a calculator (so can I), so use your abilities to increase your odds. If it's not against the rules of course.
Heck! if it was not against the rules you could even steal answers ahead of time!, but rules are rules.
Don't feel guilty (and don't make me feel guilty for doing that sort of thing).
