There are only 62 more days until the october SATs..

So far I've gotten 1380, 1230, 1320 on my practice tests in the 10 real sats book. Do you think I have enough time to raise my score to a 1500?

If you really want to know, I'm missing more critical reading and analogies than anything else. My math scores are changing too: 750, 630, 700

Yeah my math score varies like hell too...700, 690, 740, 590, 660, 610, 750, 690. Weird as hell.

wow, your scores are really unpredictable..bobbyh, if work correctly and really concentrate you might be able to get your score..i'm just curious as to how you can get a 1380 then get a 1230 the next minute, if you keep conditions constant and you dont get nervous it shouldnt fluctuate by that much, hmm

its due to the difficulty of the test. Some are kinda easy (easier words, easier passage). My score fluctuates +-150

how many days till the psats?

By Bobbyh (Bobbyh) on Monday, August 11, 2003 - 04:45 pm: Edit

Yeah they're really random. The second one I did worse on was harder than the others.

What does everyone else think?

ah im in the same dilemma...my goal is around a 1450 maybe higher...last Jan i got a 1330. You all think its plausible to raise it that much? I have the 10 real sat book, havent started using it yet because I'm afraid its too early. Has anyone done the Barron's Word list, and does it really help?

Jason, 150 point fluctuation? That sounds way too extreme. Most of the curves are basically the same, except in the 770-800 portion. The tests are not getting harder, certainly not in the verbal section at least. How much is your verbal fluctuating?

My verbal fluctuates only +- 30-40 pts. I have no idea why my math score fluctuates so much. I know the curves are the same. All I do is make stupid mistakes, and apparently a random number of them per test.

My scores on 10 Real SATs are actually pretty consistent: I did all ten exams and averaged 730 verbal and 690 Math. I can only wish that those scores translate well to the actual SAT in October.

So does anyone think there's a realistic chance for me to raise my score to a 1500?
