I would like to know what do the colleges consider ie give more importance to
a. to your percentile
b or your scores
An 800 in chem will get you a 94 percentile (according to the collegeboard site) while in physics a 92 .So does the score matter or the percentile?
An how come even full marks doesnt give u a 99 percentile?

...because 6% of the people who took the Chem test and 8% who took the Physiscs test scored 800.
Percentile language goes something like this: "you scored better than ___%(fill in #)of the other people who took this test".

I had a related question. Does it look better to present your Physics score rather than a chem score, when applying for engineering?
Scaled scores are absurd! BTW, any one got any great advice for the writing test.

What kind of engineering? If it's chemical, then it's probably to present the chem score.
Keep in mind however, that unless you have score choice, all of your scores will show up on the score report. If you do have score choice and you actually got 800's in chem and phys, then there is no reason to hold those perfect scores.

i ditto what quark said - what sort of writing advice are you looking for?

I havent given the Physics test yet. I am sure of a 700+. (790 Chem, 800 2c) Is it worth taking the Phy test?
Thanks for the advice on writing, Monica, I would be grateful if you could respond to my query on the discussion - "SAT2s for APs".

Yeah, take physics. I always thought I was better at chem, but my SAT IIs are 650 chem and 720 phys. Physics curve is also messed up, kinda like IIC, so it's not that hard to get 800. I'm sure that with your 790 C and 800 IIC, you will get 800 P.
How did u get such a great chem score? How did u deal with those nasty 3-in-1 questions where there were two true/false statements in each question?
