Hello,
My question is I'm trying to study Macroeconomics by myself because my school doesn't offer this class. What textbooks / books do you recommend for me in order to self-study for this subject? Is it do-able? Tell me your results if you took the exam.

AP Macro is a joke... honestly... it is more read-the-book kind of test. I barely needed the teacher.
I got a 4 (I took the test after not having it for a semester AND I had a cold)

Hi,
I think i can help you.
I self studied it last year and got a five on it.
For textbook I recommand James Gwardney's "Economics, Public and private choice".
It's a real nice book. However, its material on absolute and comparative advantage is lacking.
but don't worry, you can go to Federal reserves website and order their educational pamplets on that for FREE.
Good luck to you.

I recommend looking into the usual prep books. PR is all right, but I'm think there's much better out there. Try Barrons, Kaplan, etc... and see what they have.

BUMP...... Umm how did you go about taking notes for this class? How much time as in month / year wise did you spend to learn macro?

IF you are asking me, well no notes from class. I'm almost a home schooler.
I spend three month to do it and done.

My question is can I self-study with ONLY A regular test prep book? Has anyone tried that? Or a textbook / test prep combo would be more efficient?

If you study only with a test prep book, I don't think you will do well on the exam. They simply don't cover all the materials tested.

I have a question about the Macro exam. What am I supposed to do in the Free Response Section? Am I supposed to write 3 separate essays for the separate questions or do I just answer them like a regular question... please respond
