*Biology--5 (very lucky)
*Stats--5 (big surprise)
*English Lang--4 (my advice: write your essays on the properly labelled pages...whatever)
*US--4 (not a very hard exam...totally my fault for not having time to do the reading all year)

By Jason817 (Jason817) on Thursday, July 17, 2003 - 01:55 pm: Edit

AP Chem curve must have been REALLY nice. I bombed 3 of the free response questions, omitted 15 multiple choice, and prolly missed a lot of the MC's too.

scores came in today (from NYC):

Calc BC-5
English Language- 5

U.S. History- 3(i was expecting a 5 cuz i studied my ass off for it)

i seriously believe that the person grading my essays for ush was biased

hmm..US history curve..i dunno really..I got the exact grade I was expecting..lol..i was expecting a 4 but keeping hope that i just *might* get a 5..lol..

By O71394658 (O71394658) on Monday, July 21, 2003 - 09:57 pm: Edit

Manowar, I agree. I could see how my Articles of Confederation essay probably sucked. But the main DBQ was awesome...because my class spent like 2 weeks on the New Deal and I reviewed that for like half an hour right before the test...

I got a 780 on the SAT II: USH...so I'm a little weirded out by the fact that I could've done bad on the MC. I thought the SAT: II questions were about the same difficulty...it really doesn't make sense.

It's odd because I literally spent like half an hour studying for the Enviro. Science exam...but probably close to 10 hours studying for US History. I'm going to try to get it rescored...

By Amilee04 (Amilee04) on Tuesday, July 22, 2003 - 03:49 pm: Edit

I called for my scores, but as of today still haven't received them in the mail (Wisc.)

I got:

Biology-5
Eng Language-5
US Gov't and Politics-3

I was happiest with biology - I was expecting a 4 because I left 25 MC blank (! - kind of a lot, huh?) and 2 essays were mediocre. I think i did well on the death one and the Chi square - I spent about half my time on that one. To the person asking about the Chi square - I was lucky - my class spent a few weeks breeding Drosophila flies and checking them for genetic recombination - then we performed Chi square analysis.

Government, well, I kind of took that just to see how I would do, but didn't put any time into it. So no surprise.

Good luck to everyone still waiting for scores!

By Tweety620 (Tweety620) on Tuesday, July 22, 2003 - 04:00 pm: Edit

Serene: yea, there was a chi square question on the free response from AP labs, of course, that was the lab I didn't do.... I still hope I got a 5 though, cuz my teacher was really great, except we never learned how to do chi squares...

BraDk i wish i was you. i took those same tests and i got 4's across the board. I know thats not bad but i was hoping for better. and the thing that sucks about all of them is that i know it was the open ended that killed me in each test. The only one i was truly happy about was physics, cause i walked out thinking i had gotten a 2 :)

My school covers the fees. I'm extremely lucky.

By Exerful (Exerful) on Wednesday, August 06, 2003 - 03:19 am: Edit

these are from this past year (junior year):

bio: 4 (hey, i was expecting a 2... wouldn't you if you only passed 4 or 5 tests all year? haha)
eng lang: 3 (this i was disappointed with, was expecting a 4... :-()
spanish lang: 4 (messed up the essay, which is weird since it's usually my best part)

someone asked if anyone else thought the english language and comp exam was hard. at the time, i didn't think it was too bad. the multiple choice was much easier than what we had practiced in class, and the essays were eh. but i guess it was (graded) harder than i thought. surprisingly, many people got lower scores than they expected (very few people get 3's on this exam in my school, and this year, there were a whole bunch).

at the same time, though, the english language test is really weird, the writing bit, i mean. writing about LANGUAGE, like rhetorics and such, is wholly unnatural, and most people, i would think, are not accustomed to writing in such a manner. i think this is where my problem existed; though my writing improved, it wasn't substanial enough. (i also had a teacher who was teaching her first AP class.)

Oh god, when we took the Comparative Government test so many people just started laughing. We covered a lot of material in class, guess it just wasn't the right material. And the U.S. one was a breeze because we covered all of that stuff so we all went into the Comp test with such a false sense of confidence.

*No lie, folks, this exam was E-V-I-L. The essays weren't bad (though most of my answers were based on stuff I didn't learn in class), but the case studies in the multiple choice... eergh. Still, it's equally hard for everyone, so it's not like I'd discourage you to take it or something.

...I didn't put my scores on here already, did I?

By Youallsuck (Youallsuck) on Friday, August 22, 2003 - 10:52 pm: Edit

the fact that you all feel the need to brag annanomously about your AP test scores makes me sick to my stomach. Isn't there any pride left in learning for the sake of bettering one's self? Thats just my opinion.
