Hi,

I just took the SAT I this morning at The American Embassy School in New Delhi , India. The test-center provided all testers with 2B pencils that were seriously lacking in qualaity; the eraser, for example, failed to erase properly and smuged a few surrounding bubbles in the process. I did inform the proctor who had nothing to say except, ridiculously enough, that it was my "fault" for using the eraser. I'm most worried about the computerized-scoring-system used by ETS recognizing those relatively light smudges as answers, and, consequently, omitting those few questions from my raw-score. Do you think that is a possibility, and if so, what do you recommend I do? Also, do you know of the exact URL at Collegeboard.com where I can find information on the human-scoring option -- that site is rather hard to navigate, I've been clicking around for a while quite a while now

You could write the ETS directly. Probably the fault of the proctor. I dont think that it will affect you greatly because I didnt erase all my stray marks and Im confident the machine will detect only the true ones. My highschool uses a similar device called ScanTron which is the same bubble method. But anyhow you should still write the ETS. By the way, any idea as to which section was the experimental? (was it math??)

I think it was math as I had three verbal sections only.

Sorry Posted too soon, just wondering which math section was the experimental one, because I remember a section later on that was confusing as hell.

Anyway, just realized I answered one question wrong that I could have gotten right, I know.. I shouldn't think too much a bout them... grr.. remember on one of the sentence completions it talked about the african wildlife? I chose delienate instead of multiplicity... dumb me.. anyhow my 2 cents, bye

The scale on the Math part of the SAT I is insane ; you could sneez on two bubbles and go down 50 points !
