Hi,
I self studied some 15+ AP courses (of course the school doesn't offer that many), but I have some difficulty finding a school that administers 15+ AP exams.
If you know a high school in the whole wide world, preferably in los angeles, that administers 15+ AP exams and are willing to offer them to homeschoolers and student from other schools, let me know.
thanks

I want to follow your path. Actually, in my school, I just told the AP Coordinator around February or March and he was cool with it. So that was my independent study AP to exam in a little room by myself. However, that's going to be a lot more empty rooms next year, because I'm aiming for 4/5 more ind study (with no teacher assistance) next year. Sorry that I can't offer my school (in NY), but I suppose there should be schools like that, though, right?
[By the way, my school offers 11 plus music theory, but usually on independent study (w/teacher), because barely anyone signs up for it]

LOL Oh Darn LA! If you were in New York, it would be one word. Stuyvesant!! Although Stuyvesant offers EVERY SINGLE AP as many people assume, this is not true, since they do not offer World History....
Sorry for digressing off-topic! (I'm not in Stuy!)

My school offers over 15 AP tests, but I don't know if you'd want to come to Hawaii...or maybe you'd want to test and then take a vacation after that!

Shouldn't all schools administer all of the AP exams that exist? Even if they don't offer the courses, there's no reason that they wont offer the exam. At least at my school, I took an exam in which I was the only test taker (French Lang) even though I took the class at another school...

If you request an exam I'm pretty sure the school is obligated to order and administer the exam to you. This year, 2 of my friends decided they wanted to take the AP in computer science and had my high school order and administer the test just for them. And all this on fee waivers too. In case you're wondering this is Bronx Science in NY.

My school in Florida does that too(lets you take whatever tests you want- and will proctor even if it's only one person- but if you didn't actually take the class I think they make you pay)- if you go to a school- go to a guidance conselor and request to take whichever tests you want..If you are homeschooled- try calling up a school near you and asking - tho I think whoever teaches you could proctor it.

>I think whoever teaches you could proctor it.<
ETS specificly prohibits this. Teachers of the same SUBJECT aren't even allowed to proctor.

Why would anyone want or need to take 15 APs? How would that help you?
| By Dude55 (Dude55) on Thursday, July 03, 2003 - 05:04 pm: Edit |
Yeah, I agree. The literature for an AP course is something to the tune of "people that care about the subject material," and so on...
I'm guessing that doesn't mean stacking up on APs to inflate your application...

My school in Washington offers all but like German and one other of the available APs. We were just ranked 13th in the Nation by Newsweek and one of my good friends was on the cover of the magazine!
