I just checked my June SAT scores and was amazed at my totally unexpected World History score - 770 with a percentile of 94.
Okay, you're good at history, you might say. But the thing is I am an international student (nationality - Slovak) and I never had World History classes in my life. I took this test just because somebody told me it looks really good on an application if you get at least a fair score. My idea of a fair score was a 650.
I did not have enough time to prepare and just read the Barron's book a few days before taking the test. I did not even bother to memorize anything, I kind of gave in and was hoping to get a fair score by accident.
On the test day, I found myself guessing half of the test and did not expect more than 650.
I must be really good at eliminating nonsensical answers - I guess this won me this top notch score.
Cool, ha?

well maybe you are a good guesser, but one thing for certain is that the curve on that SAT II in particular is largely to your advantage, you can get about 10 questions wrong and still get an 800- just to give u a taste of the curve. anyway, good job because yea u might have gotten lucky but maybe you are a damn good guesser.
