Hey everybody,
I'm really disappointed with my scores on teh SAT IIs.
All my scores are either in the high 600s or low 700s. I am referring to my math and sciences. I don't know why I can't do well. I do do well in school, it probably because I'm not a test taker.
I really want to be a doctor, but these scores really make me think twice. Are these tests really good indicators of how well you'll perform? Should I be in anyway discourage from pursuing my goal???
Just wondering...

lol sat scores won't make or break you in life. enjoy life, try to improve where you can and really everythin will fall in place.

>>I'm not a test taker. <<
Well, being a bad test taker is better than not being a test taker at all!
Don't sweat it though. Your scores are still very good (top 10-20% of America---and in an already self selective group) so there really isn't anything to worry about. You can still be a great doctor, maybe not a doctor with a Harvard degree (that is actually still very much a possibility) but your dream can still easily be a reality. Don't be discouraged-you're doing fine.

don't psyche yourself out so much on some low test scores. for one thing, med schools won't see those scores. they're only for college. and anyone can have a bad day. just study a bit harder and take them again. at least now you know what they're really like so you can better prepare and be more relaxed the second time around. take a deep breath, crack open your books again and kick butt on take #2. for now, enjoy your summer! it finally ain't raining (at least on the east coast).

My daughter took sat level1c in her sophomore year. She got 610. I was a little disappointed, however I told her to take it again. She currently has a 8th rank in her school with 3 A-s. Does she have a still chance of getting into direct medical program if she works hard in her junior year and get all A's. Also I am getting her tutored for PSAT with the hope that she will qualify for National Merit Scholarship. She plans to take SAT11 Writing and Math Level 1c(2nd time) this year in December. Any good advice on what she needs to now to get into direct med program or is she out of the league?

which direct med program is your daughter looking into becasue i think the best way to plan the rest of her two years would be to look into exactly what the school wants...i am kind of in the same positioni did ok on my 1c but i screwed up my chem..neways just ask your daughter to look into specific schools and maybe mail a couple of people who are enrolled in the direct med program to see how their qualifications compare to her. I will post any other information i find during my research
