I'm taking Gov AP (US) next school year and I was wondering how crucial is it to know about current events? Because right now, I know the bare basics only.
If I did want to improve my knowledge, what news websites do you recommend?

I am taking Gov AP too, and I'm a HUGE follower of current events. I don't know how important it is to know, but I do know that in our school, the class discussions are supposedly based upon the previous day's NY Times. Some news websites:
google.com/news
news.yahoo.com
drudgereport.com
wnd.com
newsmax.com
nytimes.com
ap.org
washtimes.com

Well, um, stuff from the 2000 election was on this year's test, so I guess that's wrong.
