Ap Euro 5

By Serene (Serene) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 03:11 pm: Edit

You called?

Good job btw =)

By Apg (Apg) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 03:13 pm: Edit

Yep, I called. Thanks for the congrats.

By Adamg (Adamg) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 03:15 pm: Edit

I thought you had to wait until July 1st to call.

By Eurostar (Eurostar) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 03:15 pm: Edit

They get them in a couple days early every year.

By Doofus (Doofus) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 03:36 pm: Edit

I'd call but i lost my AP student pack that had my number

By Eurostar (Eurostar) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 03:38 pm: Edit

You can use your social security number OR your AP number.

By Apguy (Apguy) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 03:43 pm: Edit

Congrats Apg.

I'm not going to call in though, I'm really indifferent about my performance anyway because it isn't a huge part of my application.

By Hsimpson2k4 (Hsimpson2k4) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 03:53 pm: Edit

Do you speak to a person or just dial numbers? I don't really feel like giving my social security number to some guy...

By Eurostar (Eurostar) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 03:55 pm: Edit

No, you dial numbers.

By Hsimpson2k4 (Hsimpson2k4) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 04:03 pm: Edit

oh that's ok

ahhh i don't have a credit card

So who will lend me their number?

....hahaha j/k

By Eurostar (Eurostar) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 04:05 pm: Edit

There are credit card # generators on Kazaa. Heh. But it's not worth the risk of getting caught.

By Lateralus (Lateralus) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 04:08 pm: Edit

lol! do those work??

also, is it one call to get all your AP grades, or each one. what is the number? thanks

and, if you didn't put in your social security number when filling out the AP test, will you still be able to use your SS number?

By Eurostar (Eurostar) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 04:29 pm: Edit

1-888-308-0013 and no, you won't be able to use your SS number, naturally, since you never gave it to them.

By J031p (J031p) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 04:33 pm: Edit

How much is it to get your scores early? And when does the scores come in by mail?

By Kwiktrix123 (Kwiktrix123) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 04:36 pm: Edit

15 bucks........You get all the AP scores of the tests you took for that much....right?....

By Skiesofamber (Skiesofamber) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 04:38 pm: Edit

eeek! I got a 3 in macroeconomics :(.. I messed up a lot of the essays.

I did okay otherwise.. a 4 in microeconomics, a 4 in environmental science, and a 5 in biology. lol, bio is my worst class, the only one I got a B in, and of course, I score the best in it.. :P

By Kwiktrix123 (Kwiktrix123) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 04:41 pm: Edit

If some AP grades aren't in, and you pay to see them.......are you swindled out of your money??.....Like if one is ready but the other isn't........

By Doofus (Doofus) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 04:42 pm: Edit

How did anyone do on the English language/comp?

By Me1 (Me1) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 05:24 pm: Edit

Sooooooo nervous. Waiting for my parents to get home cos I don't have a credit card.

By Terpfan101 (Terpfan101) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 05:57 pm: Edit

i was nervous, but called. I was like its a jinx to pay the money for me online for SAT results because when i didn't pay i did better. But I am happy. I got a 4 on Statistics and a 5 on US history. I am dissapointed though because I thought I had a 5 on stat. Oh well, only like less than 10% get a 5 on it. :)

By Azura (Azura) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 06:21 pm: Edit

when do you receive your AP grades regularly without paying for it?

By Me1 (Me1) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 06:26 pm: Edit

Aaura, usually sometime in the middle of July. There isn't a set date though.

By Entropie (Entropie) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 06:29 pm: Edit

sh!t, not again...

"your AP english language and composition score is....3. To have your score repeated, press 1."

*pressed 1*

"you AP english language and composition score is....3. To have your score repeated, press 1."

*pressed 1*

"you AP english language and composition score is....3. To have your score repeated, press 1."

*click*

I can't believe it. Why did I get 4's and 5's on the many practices I took?? how f-ing dissapointing. It was the same with euro.

By Doofus (Doofus) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 06:45 pm: Edit

oh sh_t, people on this board got a 3 on eng lang, that means i probably got a 1.

By Entropie (Entropie) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 06:49 pm: Edit

No. You probably got a 4+. I'm a dunce when it comes to AP tests; i get so nervous. Oh well, i have another shot senior year, I guess. :/

By Minority (Minority) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 07:08 pm: Edit

ARRGH..so close
i have no right to complain except my scores mean i have to study next year if i want sophomore standing

AP latin 5 (awarded 1/2 of a credit)
AP us hist 5 (full)
AP spanish 5 (full)
AP english freakin language 4 NO CREDIT

harvard ONLY accepts 5s for credit..damn elitists...

that means i only have 2.5 credits out of the four needed. I'm pretty sure i'll get another (1/2) credit on next yr's latin exam..but now that means i have to get a 5 on the bio or english for advanced standing.GRR..that's too risky.

*Do you guys think i should drop out of AP Govt (which harvard doesnt accept credit for) and just take Economics or AP Euro??
How hard is the bio ap??

By Asknot11 (Asknot11) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 07:28 pm: Edit

take AP Euro! It is one of the EASIEST classes ever. I took it as a Sophomore and got a 4. I did not study at all for it. If you take it as a senior you should easily get a 5!

By Thinisin (Thinisin) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 07:35 pm: Edit

Minority, have you gotten into Harvard yet?

By Minority (Minority) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 08:01 pm: Edit

lol no...the power of wishful thinking...

Not yet, i'm applying EA...yes i know it's a big IF but i'm still keeping my hopes up

Harvard is my first choice..but it can be so aggravating sometimes.. i self-studied for the AP world and got a 5 just to find out they don't accept that either...so with four 5s and a 4 i don't have much to show for it.

By Chasgoose (Chasgoose) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 08:07 pm: Edit

Hooray!

US History-5

Physics B-5

By Chasgoose (Chasgoose) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 08:14 pm: Edit

Minority are you sure that Harvard allows you to have sophomore standing because I know that a lot of the elite schools might let you be in more advanced classes based on your AP's but not have advanced standing credits wise. I remember them saying this when I visited Yale, Amherst, and Columbia. I don't know much about Harvard because I am not really interested in going there but I would assume that it is the same as those schools I mentioned.

By Doofus (Doofus) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 08:44 pm: Edit

Looks like i wont be getting my scores til mid-July. So those that took english language/composition and got their scores, was it higher or lower than you expected? Why? Which part did you do better on(essay or m/c). I want to estimate my score.

By Kewkiekid (Kewkiekid) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 09:06 pm: Edit

my english lang. score was exactly what i expected. i know i did better on MC

By Demonllama (Demonllama) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 09:09 pm: Edit

eew, I know without a doubt I failed AP Spanish 4, and I don't want to get my hopes up for AP US history, so I'm just going to wait....

what a relief...

next year will be way harder though: US, AB, eng lang, french lang, bio, us gov, comp gov
senior year: BC, french lit, eng lit, physics, micro, macro, stats, psych, geo. eek.

By O71394658 (O71394658) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 09:38 pm: Edit

Grrr...can't find AP book.

By Quarky (Quarky) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 10:11 pm: Edit

This was so unexpected.

I thought I did pretty good on US Govt and much worse on Comparative Govt.

I call em up and the first score I hear is:

American Govt: two

I was like holy ••••. I thought I'd get a 3. This must mean that I got a 2 or a 1 on Comparative.

But then, Comparative Govt: three

"phew" that's good.

and then the coolest sh1t:

AP Calc BC (self study): FIVE. AB subscore: FIVE!!!

I am so glad that I aced math again! I now have perfect math scores on the SAT, the ACT, the SAT2 iic, and the AP calc BC, which I learned on my OWN! Ha! this is definitely going to raise my self-esteem after all the crap that my family has to go through!

Doofus, I got a 5. I did higher than I expected. I was expecting a 4, possibly a 3, but not a 5. I think I probably did better on the essays, cos I generally do, although I thought the multiple choice on this exam were easier than the usual.

Glad your self-esteem is better, Quarky!

By Doofus (Doofus) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 10:27 pm: Edit

aww •••• my essays were crap, say i get a 4 on all 3 essays and 65-75% mc right.. is that a 3?

By Number9 (Number9) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 10:38 pm: Edit

How was the Psych exam? I plan to self-study for this year, and want to see what you people who took it this year thought of it.

By Mm314 (Mm314) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 10:39 pm: Edit

harvard doesn't give you credit for ap courses, they simply enroll you in higher classes.

if i don't know my ap test number, is there anyway i can get them?

By Quarky (Quarky) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 11:34 pm: Edit

yeah, just use ur social sec number. i did have my AP test #, but was too lazy to use it.

By Apg (Apg) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 11:37 pm: Edit

>yeah, just use ur social sec number<

That is, if you bubbled in your SS# during registration.

By Nuoli (Nuoli) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 11:40 pm: Edit

Oy,

Calc BC/AB - 5/5
Physics C/M - 5
Physics C/EM - 4
US History - 4

Eek. I had hoped for a 5 on the history, don't much care for physics. Think i'll get by since I got a 790 on my SAT II? I really did just have a bad day.

By Encomium (Encomium) on Friday, June 27, 2003 - 11:46 pm: Edit

Are your scores mostly expected or were you surprised.

I thought I got a five but I left 1/3 of an essay blank --hope i didn't end up w worse than expected. i don't feel like calling i didn't know how to do chi square

I had the issue you guys are talking about. I couldn't find my AP # and hadn't listed my SS. What I did was call AP Customer Service at:

609-771-7300

told them my name and all that, and they gave me my AP #...that easy

but you'll have to wait until they're open again, and i don't know if they do weekend.

World history 5
AP Physics 5
AP Calc BC...5!!!
I SOOO thought i'd do worse than that. LUCKY ME!!!

By Eurostar (Eurostar) on Saturday, June 28, 2003 - 12:38 am: Edit

Curiousone, you are so lucky! US Gov was the only exam I was *sure* I had gotten a 5 in, and then I get a 3. Eh, I'd rather take the scores that give me credit (5's on sciences/math) over this one, considering most of the top schools don't give credit and/or placement for it. Anyways, on to the scores:

AP Biology - 5

AP Calculus BC - 5

AP Chemistry - 5

AP French Language - 4

AP Music Theory - 5

AP Physics C: Mechanics - 5

AP US Government and Politics - 3 :(

AP Euro. Hist and AP Span. Lang. last year (5's)

SOoooo close to AP Natl Scholar

LOL Eurostar, you already have AP Scholar w/ Distinction status at the very least...I have nothing! AP US Gov is a one semester course and so is AP Comp Sci A (well, it was a year long course but a semester exam), so right now I have one measly (spelling?) credit toward being even a plain old AP Scholar. I will have it by the end of senior year but that doesn't count that much, does it? ;)

Hey New, which AP Comp Sci exam did you take?

By Filo895 (Filo895) on Saturday, June 28, 2003 - 10:02 am: Edit

Should a person be happy or disappointed with these grades (if his/her ambition is an ivy)?

Euro History--5
US History--5
Pschology--5
English language--4 (expected 5; 800 SATV & 800 Writing, 5's on most practices)
Spanish language--4

By Curiousone (Curiousone) on Saturday, June 28, 2003 - 10:07 am: Edit

Oh, come on, Filo - 4s and 5s are BOTH accepted as college credit at most Ivies! Don't be so worried. You are fine, what's more, you haven't started senior year yet and you're already an AP Scholar!

By Bnp182 (Bnp182) on Saturday, June 28, 2003 - 12:06 pm: Edit

What do you need to have to be an AP scholar??

www.collegeboard.com/ap/students/benefits/awards.html

AP Scholar

I was so afraid to call but my parents convinced me to go for it...

Latin was the only one I cared about... personal vendetta (hehe) because of issues with the teacher (I worked sooo hard but got my only B). I'm happy now, though, cuz I got a 5 ;-)

Biology... 5 Quite puzzling... tried to get my teacher not to make me take the exam since I knew I'd do badly

Stats... 5 That too was a surprise. My course was not AP and I tried to learn the last 1/4-1/3 of the material on my own in the last week...

English Lang... 4 My recommendation: write your essays on the right pages... ooops. Whatever.

US... 4 No complaints. Just didn't have time to do the work for this class. 4 is higher than I deserve...

Good luck to everyone else! I'm so excited for senior year..

*Hope and Reward: A Play in One Act*

[endless dialing sequence]
GENERIC VOICE: "Your AP English Language and Composition score is ....5. To have your score repeated, press 1."
*1*
GENERIC VOICE: "Your AP English Language and Composition score is ....5. To have your score repeated, press 1."
*1*
GENERIC VOICE: "Your AP English Language and Composition score is ....5. To have your score repeated, press 1."

And I probably would have kept on pressing it in incredulity (I thought AP Lang was the hardest one I took) if it hadn't skipped to my next exam for whatever reason. By the way:

AP Enviromental Science: 5
AP American Government & Politics: 5
AP Comparative Government & Politics: 5
AP Calculus BC: 5
AP Calculus AB subgrade: 5

Yeah, I'm still in shock; I'm really paranoid that there's a problem in the database or that I misheard the numbers or something. I went around asking at least three or four people (I'm still at Governor's School), "There aren't any numbers that sound like 'five', are there?" Seriously.

Does the AP Calc AB subgrade count for AP Scholar recognition?

By Curiousone (Curiousone) on Sunday, June 29, 2003 - 03:02 pm: Edit

You have BC as a full year course, American and Comparative which count as one full year, Env Sci which counts as half year, and Eng Lang which I think counts as full year. Those add up to at least three if not more, so you're set for AP Scholar. All 5's. Yow. Congrats.

Most people who speak English natively can't get a 750 in Writing.

English Language - 3
US History - 3
US Govt - 3
Macroeconomics - 4

I actually cried (for the first few seconds when I got off the phone and it was in conjunction with my SAT II writing score, I'm over it now though). I really wanted 4s on all of them and studied my ass off. I actually studied so much, I actually got sick. But... wooohoooo! AP Scholar with Honors !! I'm happy.

WHY IS EVERYONE GETTING 3'S ON ENGLISH LANGUAGE!?!?!?

By Nutmag345 (Nutmag345) on Tuesday, July 01, 2003 - 02:25 pm: Edit

I hate the English Language exam. It was by far my hardest class, and my teacher really did not prep our class for the type of essays on the exam. I was still hoping for a 5 somehow, but that was not to be.

All of you who got English Language and Spanish Language back, what did you get and what were you expecting? I was expecting a 5 on English, but after seeing all these 3s I'm really scared!

I got a 3 on Calc AB this year! Ya its upsetting b/c I got the award for calculus in my class. Well Any way,my question is, if i take BC next year, and my AB Subscore is better than a 3- does that get taken over the actual AB 3?

Re: Is that enough for AP Scholar with Distinction?

AP Scholar with Distinction
Granted to students who receive an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams on full-year courses (or the equivalent).
[Excerpted from http://www.collegeboard.com/ap/students/benefits/awards.html ]

According to them, that's 5 full year courses, and your average is 4.3, so you got it.
