I was recently informed by my local bookstore that THERE ARE NO TEST PREP BOOKS FOR THE LATIN SAT II. Is this true? I know you can get the "Real SAT 2's", but I don't know if I can justify spending 20+ bucks for one lousy practice test. Does anyone know what's covered in this particular SAT 2? Is it easy? Hard? Grammar-concentrated? Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Liz, I don't think you need to buy the "Real SAT II's" book, as most public libraries have a copy. If you want to find out about the content of an SAT II Latin test, you could try going to the College Board website (www.collegeboard.com). In addition, you could try looking on Amazon.com or Barnes and Noble for an SAT II Latin prep book.

Liz, you are right, there are no test prep books for Latin. My child took the SAT II Latin test last year, and did the practice test in the Real SAT IIs book -- she bought the book since she was taking five tests, but if you don't want to buy it, why not just go to the bookstore and sit down at a table and take it? as long as you don't write in or otherwise damage the book, i don't see anything wrong with that. Good luck. BTW, she looked on amazon, etc, and found no prep books. The CB website does have some sample questions, if i remember correctly.
