I am going to be a junior next year and I am wondering what courses you guys are taking as juniors in Math, Science, English etc...

By Me1 (Me1) on Monday, June 23, 2003 - 09:21 pm: Edit

I was a junior last yr. I took
AP Chem
AP US
AP English Lang
Spanish IV Honors
Math Analysis Honors (my school sux in the math area & that's the highest jr math)
band
study hall (originally took it due to scheduling conflicts, but ended up being quite happy w/it)

By Bullrider7788 (Bullrider7788) on Monday, June 23, 2003 - 09:25 pm: Edit

I'm taking...

Instruments
AP English Language
AP Computer Science AB
AP US History

I will be taking Spanish 3 at my CC during the winter.

By Sulsk (Sulsk) on Monday, June 23, 2003 - 09:25 pm: Edit

Russian I
Math B Honors
COllege Prep/Health
Spanish 4 honors
chem honors/ sci research II
Gym/Jornalism
AP US

By Terpfan101 (Terpfan101) on Monday, June 23, 2003 - 09:31 pm: Edit

i just completed my junior year, I took:
AP Statistics
AP US hist.
Hon. chemistry
honors pre-calculus
spanish 4
honors english
band

If you are wondering about AP's and how many to take. I would say that if you can handle it 3 is an ideal number. I probably could have handled one more AP. Some kids at my school took 4-6 Ap's but i think that is insane!

By Quentin_Compson (Quentin_Compson) on Monday, June 23, 2003 - 09:41 pm: Edit

i just finished my junior year, and here's what i took:

IB English III (took AP Eng. Lang. exam)
IB/AP Spanish Language (took AP exam)
IB Math Methods SL (took SL IB exam)
IB Theory of Knowledge
AP Physics B (took AP exam)
IB Psychology SL (took IB exam)
IB American History

so i took 2 IBs and 3 APs, which really wasn't bad, considering I didn't study for 2 of them (Spanish and English; i'm hopeless at Spanish, and English is easy).

Warning: AP Physics B is a BEAST :)

By Corettev (Corettev) on Monday, June 23, 2003 - 09:44 pm: Edit

AP English Lang
AP Physics C
AP BC Calculus
AP Macro and Micro Economics
AP US History
Spanish III

Band and Orchestra, but not as classes

By Mattman (Mattman) on Monday, June 23, 2003 - 09:45 pm: Edit

All the people above forgot the guy asked for junior year, not senior. Be realistic.

My school doesn't offer a lot of classes, especially not higher level ones. But if you don't want a terribly difficult year, I took this:

Band (you can substitute for any arts class)
Physics (after Bio and Chem)
Honors English III
AP Government / AP Economics
Pre-Calculus with Trigonometry
AP US History

By Apguy (Apguy) on Monday, June 23, 2003 - 09:54 pm: Edit

>>All the people above forgot the guy asked for junior year, not senior. Be realistic. <<

I don't think anyone forgot that considering they said that was their future/past junior year schedule.

By Number9 (Number9) on Monday, June 23, 2003 - 10:12 pm: Edit

My school is quite limited in AP courses, and we don't have IBs, honors, regeants, etc.

This year I'll be taking:
Choir
French III
AP US History
AP Biology
English IV
PreCalculus
Trig. (hopefully not, I'll have to see...)
Psychology at a local college every M/W/F

It kind of sucks at my school, having required classes to graduate that are below my level, lack of course freedom, everything is pretty much lined up for you...(like a regular Freshman would take Earth Science, then Biology, then Chemistry, then either Physics or AP Bio as a senior. Advanced freshmen would get Biology first year, Chemistry as a soph, then AP Bio or Physics depending on which year you want to take it)

I really wish I could have had the freedom to take AP English and AP Calc as a junior, but its impossible at this hell hole. So I might as well max out all that I can.

Junior year should be rigorous.

It's the last full year that colleges have to evaluate your grades.

Try taking a few AP classes.

ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US
