Haven't taken it, but I did see an REA prep book for the SAT II German at Borders.

Well, all I can say is that if you're a native speaker, you'll get an 800. ;-)

I'm taking German in June- I also haven't seen any distinctly test-prep books, although I do have a 6-practice-test REA book. The reading comprehension seems fine, but the grammar part is more challenging... You need to know vocabulary and verb tenses/spellings (remember the umlaut) and there's even the occasional 'which article goes with which noun', ugh.
As for German books-- the Adrienne German in 32 lessons book, the Foreign Service series (used to prepare diplomats, expensive because 12 cassettes are included), and the BBC series are all excellent, and serious. Make sure to get cassettes if you really want to learn.
