By Kush on Friday, September 06, 2002 - 08:19 pm: Edit

I am planning to take three SAT IIs. Writing, math and a science. Should I take an additional science SAT II or just take three? Does taking another one and doing well on it look good or is it just fine for me to take three?
Any information on this would be appreciated.

Writing, math and science are usually enough for most colleges. Of course you should check with the colleges you're interested in, because they all may have slightly different SAT II requirements. Some do not require any, and others will allow you to substitute an ACT exam. (College websites are a good place to find this information.) However, if you can score well (700+ is an arbitrary but popular definition of "well") any extra SAT IIs can demonstrate your intelligence and initiative. I have taken SAT IIs in Bio, Chem, Global Hist, Writing, and Math 2c, and plan to submit all except chem (I had score choice.)
