How long should the free response answers be?
(American and comparative)

Last year, for AP U.S. History, my teacher made us write five paragraphs essays... this year, my teacher is very lenient... he tells us that our answers should be like lingerie (long enough to cover the subject, but short enough to be interesting...).

A senior who took the exams last year told us that she wrote two sentences to about a paragraph for each free response question -- and she got 5's on both exams.

So I was wondering what length would be sufficient?

3 well-developed paragraphs is what I will be doing. The govt FRQs are less formal than those on APUSH, I've been told.
