i'm a first semester sophomore, Journalism major, and i'm looking to tranfer to rowan. i've heard that they have a good communications/journalism program, but how are the internships for Journalism? are there many, or any, that are in philadelphia? or just the surrounding area in nj?

Em, I used to work at Rowan, back in the days when it was still Glassboro State College. Their communications/journalism program has always been excellent, and I knew a ton of kids back then who were at the school strictly for that major. While I don't know anything specific, I would hope that they arrange internships for their students in Philly. It's the closest, most vibrant urban area, and while each of the suburban areas most likely has its own newspaper, the city would be the place to get the best experience. Why don't you call the department and ask them? I'm sure they are asked this question all the time, and should be able to give you enough information to answer your questions and concerns.
