What do you all think? Parents, undergrads, highschoolers, do you think the crazy admissions process, including visiting all the schools, choosing to which schools you want to apply, choosing the teachers from whom you want recommendations, writing the particular, special, glowing essays, and crossing your fingers, is worth it?

Let me clarify - what I'm looking for is your take on facing the various trials and tribulations of the college admissions process, including the outrageous cost of college and the grueling complexity of the applications.
