The cost of war (so far): 144.4 Billion

We could have spent that money as follows:

7.5 B - to safeguard our ports

4.0 - to upgrade coast guard fleet

10 - to protect airlines from shoulder fired missiles

5 - state of the art baggage handling

7 - 100,000 new police officers

2.5 - Fire dept.

3 - secure major roads and railways

30.5 to secure weapons grade materials

.35 - upgrade emergency radio system

2.25 - expedite Nunn-Lugar Cooperative Threat reduction

24 - Two army Divisions

15.5 Doubling Special Op Forces

8.6 re-build Afghanistan

11 - crop conversion in Afghanistan

10 - Development assistant to needy countries

0.8 - public diplomacy.

How's that? It really doesn't have anything to do with college. It has to do with an administration that put a lot of money into removing the iraqi regime.

This is about as related to college as my toe is related to the moon.

I'm fine with these discussions in the Cafe, but in the Parent's Forum? What do you hope to accomplish, Simba? Moderator Sheeprun cuts us some slack by allowing these politically charged threads to exist at all in the CC Cafe. I would advise against pushing your luck by trying to branch out into the Parent's Forum, out of all places.
