I phoned Geico once to see how their rates were. They quoted me a rate that was three times higher than what I currently pay for the same coverage (with AIG).
Big advertising campaigns do not come cheaply.

AIG quoted me over twice what Geico quoted me - and AIG wants more for a small town in Virginia than what I pay in Boston. It's like a plane ticket - no way are two people going to pay the same thing.

I've stuck with my Allstate agent because I'm paying less than half of what I've received in quotes from almost everyone else. Every couple of years I get quotes and it has been consistant. I currently pay less than $900 a year for full coverage and the lowest quote that I've received was $1500 a year with higher deductibles and the highest quote was over $2500 a year.

Geico stands for Government Employee Insurance Company. it used to be for govt but then they sold it to regular people.

Thats awesomely clever, Noodleman. I hate how they keep changing the voice of the damn gecko though. I liked the original "Niles from Frasier" voice.
