I was assigned a single dorm room in a building that doesn't have cable access to individual rooms. I was wondering if there is any program you can buy online where you can watch cable TV through your computer. Please help me!
Thank you very much!

Well I will have those, but I really want to find a way to subscribe to cable TV. How would a satellite work?

I think they have chips for the computer that let you watch live TV on your PC. I've seen them on Amazon.
Or you could get bittorrent and download your favorite shows.

there are ways to watch TV on your computer, however you still need to hook it up to the cable, so it still won't work. And anyway, the money you'd pay to do that, you might as well get a TV.

Can I get DIRECT TV for my dorm room?

Direct TV requires a satellite with "line of sight" to their bird in the sky. I can't remember seeing dorms with a balcony for easy installation. This will be a problem. Also, many apartment management co's prohibit any drilling for the installation. This may also be true for the dorms.
You must love your TV to go to all this trouble.
