So you're going off to a desert Isle, or college, or jail.. or somewhere new and scary in any event...

You may only take ONE thing with you. Literally ONE thing. And it cannot be cash or people.

What would it be? Undies, a favorite book, your car, a beloved pet, your cell phone, ipod?! Tell us what one thing you could not live without.

By Poison_Ivy (Poison_Ivy) on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 - 09:25 pm: Edit

I would bring my internet connected laptop with all my ebooks, photos, web cam conferencing, credit card account (for amazon), online phone. My laptop would have everything I needed.

If I really couldn't have that... then a Vertu cellphone. Those cellphones could give me anything I would ever wanted.

By Smhop (Smhop) on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 - 09:33 pm: Edit

I should edit this thread to say no internet connected laptops bc you're right, with that, you can have anything you need. I guess the point of the thread was to name one personal thing that is truly important to you...

Sooooo,,, what one thing are you sentimentally, emotionally, etc attached to, and need?

By Anglophile (Anglophile) on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 - 09:33 pm: Edit

If on an island-- a hot british man. If in prison-- a hot british lawyer. If at college-- a hot british exchange student.

Whoops, you said no people. Hmmm... Ok, here goes:

If on an island-- a boat. If in prison-- antibacterial wipes. If at college-- it's a toss up between my laptop and cable tv.

By Poison_Ivy (Poison_Ivy) on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 - 09:37 pm: Edit

By Rugbyrocks (Rugbyrocks) on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 - 10:45 pm: Edit

college: a hot kiwi rugby player
jail: a hot kiwi rugby player in jail for beating the crap out of another rugby player
on an island : a hot kiwi rugby player, preferably one who spent enough time in boy scouts (NZ) to know how to fish, start a fire, catch small game, make weapons, send flares and all that other survival crap. but hes gotta be hot

more seriously, in all three situations i would want my Bible.

By Bee_Bee (Bee_Bee) on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 - 10:48 pm: Edit

i would bring my extraordinarily awesome pink ferrarri with its souped up engine and 1800MWB engine and 177693Hz turbo power and 190TLS launcher.

I would bring a fingernail clipper.

By Twinkletoes696 (Twinkletoes696) on Thursday, July 22, 2004 - 01:49 am: Edit

An eyeliner. Ooo baby. It makes me look not like a 13 year old (which I'm not anyway).

I would bring an Ipod too...but alas I don't have one. And I'm pretty sure a CD player witha CD counts as 2 separate things.

Or a phone, so I could call my mom or friends.

Damn. This is a hard question.

By Neo (Neo) on Thursday, July 22, 2004 - 01:53 am: Edit

Dude, they'd take away your iPod in prison.

Well...unless you were able to "smuggle" it in...

By Twinkletoes696 (Twinkletoes696) on Thursday, July 22, 2004 - 02:09 am: Edit

LOL. Well, they could take away my eyeliner too... they might consider it a primitive form of weaponry. :)

By Smhop (Smhop) on Thursday, July 22, 2004 - 02:11 am: Edit

Stop!!! Or I'll line your eyes!!!

By Twinkletoes696 (Twinkletoes696) on Thursday, July 22, 2004 - 02:15 am: Edit

Hahaha. I'd become the makeup Martha Stewart of the prison and give mini-makeovers.

(Just kidding. I never share eye makeup... but if I were in prison, who knows what would happen!)
