By Princess_Banana (Princess_Banana) on Tuesday, July 20, 2004 - 12:11 am: Edit

good lord, none of you watch ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT??????

i mean, come on, it is on the same night as the simpsons, so why don't you give it a chance? seinfeld was truly a comic gem, but it is over now, so try something new!!!

Arrested Development was a critical favorite and universally praised by those who saw it. Problem was, nobody did. Ratings in the crapper, but Fox decided to renew it for another season based soley on the critical acclaim it had garnered.

So watch it this year!!!!! It is on Sunday nights after the Simpsons!!! If you are not 100% satisfied, I will give you your money back plus 20%!!!

By Magoo (Magoo) on Tuesday, July 20, 2004 - 12:17 am: Edit

OHHH CRAP I TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT...I LUV THAT SHOW...my favorite episode is when the mother isn't supposed to be driving and she hits her son...it doesn't sound funny but u have to see it...

Oh yea, I watch Arrested Development all the time. But it doesn't count as one of my favs 'cause I miss it sometimes.

But, my fav episode(that I was able to see) is when the guy brings the truckload of Latino people(who were on their way to eat out) to a construction site where workers were on strike. He's like, "these Mexicans will do hard labor for cheap!"(or something like that) But, when the guy opened the truck doors, the people inside were like, "Where are we? What!? We've lived in the U.S. our whole lives....I'm a professor at the local college!"

That was so wrong. I'm surprised Fox wasn't flamed for that.

I forgot.... SPONGEBOB!

By Aim78 (Aim78) on Tuesday, July 20, 2004 - 11:11 pm: Edit

I'm kinda tired of Jon Stewart. He says a lot of things that aren't really that funny, but for some reason the audience finds everything funny. He is very observant though, and as a person he is hilarious (he made Larry King Live FUNNY). But he sucks on his show. Stephen Colbert and Rob Corddry are much funnier. And what's with all the reruns?? How do you get nominated for so many Emmys by laying on your ass?

As long as they keep showing Seinfeld reruns, it will always be the funniest thing on TV. In fact, didn't Jon Stewart confirm that himself? I remember the interview between him and Jerry Seinfeld (a dream match-up) and he said that he watches Seinfeld reruns instead of his own show at 11 pm.

You know what's cool!? Almost everyone in this thread loves Seinfeld! That man is God. Seinfeld is a comedic genius. I mean that guy notices like the smallest things in everyday life that you notice but never comment on, but he actually notices those things and just presents them in REALLY funny way. And I think that Conan O' Brien has to be up there with him with his comedic genius as well. But anywho, getting to the point, my favorite shows are:

Conan O' Brien
Emril Live
Iron Chef
Family Guy
Mad About You (A Classic comedy show that no one remembers!)
According to Jim
Everwood (Don't watch it much, but it has been decent the few times I caught it on)

Arrested Development. It is the only show that I EVER watch, next to the news, but that doesn't count. :)

By Feenotype2 (Feenotype2) on Tuesday, July 27, 2004 - 02:38 pm: Edit

I love Arrested Development, too. We seriously need to get a petition going to send to Fox. I can't remember the specifics, but the Neilson ratings system is very flawed.

I also love the West Wing, though I haven't seen much of the last season, which really sucks (the fact that I haven't seen it, not the season itself).

I absolutely love the Fox cartoons (at one point): The Simpsons (need I say more), Family Guy, and Futurama.

How come nobody's mentioned Adult Swim. I'm talking about the Sunday night comedy cartoons, not the freaking anime. Mission Hill? Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law? Sealab 2021?

Reality wise, I only watch the Amazing Race.

By Aussie_Girl (Aussie_Girl) on Wednesday, July 28, 2004 - 03:34 am: Edit

gilmore girls
mad about you
cosby show (still good nearly 20 years later :) )

Monk is the BEST!! Also I love to watch Spongebob and Law and Order.

By Lucifersam (Lucifersam) on Sunday, August 01, 2004 - 09:17 pm: Edit

Family Guy
Jeopardy (Ken Jennings will love on fo-eva)
The Simpsons
The Cosby Show
South Park
The Daily Show
The Brak Show (Adult Swim goodness)
Beavis and Butthead (Yup)
Ren and Stimpy
Howard Stern
Reno 911
Any of the Bill Maher shows
Three's Company (Cindy is a living goddess)
British (As in the original before they screwed it up) Whose Line Is It Anyway
I Love the 70s/80s (90s . . . eh)
Iron Chef (5 . . . minutes . . . remaining)
A few of those Tuesday night ABC shows (According to Jim, 8 Simple Rules, My Wife and Kids) are ok but I only watch them casually
Blind Date
Shorties Watchin' Shorties
Discovery/DTimes/DHealth/History Channel shows

You gotta admit, South Park still pulls it off nowadays to keep about 9 out of 10, at worst, episodes very cleverly done and hilarious. I figured it would have been cancelled by fall of 2003, at the latest.

By Koopatroopa (Koopatroopa) on Sunday, August 01, 2004 - 09:24 pm: Edit

Chappelle's Show and Family Guy are the only two things that make my family's cable bill worth anything.

Monk is absolutely fantastic. What a great character. (Remember the episode with the brother? That was amazing.)

and Jon Stewart/ Daily Show. Hard to beat
