Well #1 is definetly collegewannabe so I could laugh in his face. And then I could show him some things he'll never see again - a CMU acceptance letter, my SAT score report (1350), my transcript (no grade below 92), and some actual awards from EC's.

Has anyone thought about trying to get a collegeconfidential meetup going? I dobut there's enough people in my area (central ohio), but in the NYC/NJ region there seems to be a ton of posters. I know a lot of sites use meetup.com to organize things, maybe someone should look into it.

From what I've seen on meetup.com (I've never actually been), meetups have at least 5 people and always take place in public places. Hopefully that'd mean no one gets abducted and no fistfights occur. Actually, I have a feeling that if, say, NYC and Lisa met in person, they might get along a lot better than they do online. It's easier to hate a screen name, than an actual person.

I did enjoy life in New Jersey -- I visited Island Beach State Park, which probably has the "cleanest" water in New Jersey

However, it is difficult to enjoy life when:
1) insurance rates are the highest in the nation here
2) taxes are also high
3) it is so densely populated with people

I assume other people have it worse.

One thing about certain college-bound students on College Confidential is that they are so egotistical, proud, and haughty about their "top grade statistics" that they downgrade others who don't live up to "their" expectations. Do people actually want to meet everyone? It's not impossible to gather people, at least in the big cities, but I think it'd be really weird actually. It's like when you listen to the radio and you have these preconceived notions of what people look like and act, and it's sometimes disappointing in real life.

I think it would only be dissapointing if you kind of have a crush on someone and then you meet them and they don't quite live up to your expectations. Maybe get-togethers could be organized for CC members attending the same university in the fall.

here's the list! (no order)

1. Noodleman- Because we were both pro-shield. I was at Cornell at the same time as you, but didn't see you. I was the girl with the chaotically curly hair.

2. Magoo- who is this god of CC? He's the equivalent of head jock in high school, but more fun.

3. Candi1732 (whatever the numbers are)- cooly rational in many of her posts. deserves all her many acceptances.

4. Xiggi- wisdom of the ages...for free!

5. Twinkletoes- soap operas are wondrous

6. I can't remember their names, but the guys who got together and pranked everyone about when the SAT II's were out. Well organized and sheer genius.

7. Everyone! This means out. If you are a CCer then you are cool (or anticool, depending on the perspective)

I'm sad, I'm on no one's list. But maybe I just don't post enough.

Wow, I just discovered this section. Cool. I will add my top 10:

1. Xiggi - he and I have the same political views but he can state them more eloquently than I can!

2. Ariesathena - she sounds like a neat person and I have read her information about law schools with much interest since my daughter wants to go to law school.

3. Noodleman - he cracks me up!! I love his creative writing.

4. Digmedia - because he will adopt this old woman so she can travel the world - no actually I love reading his stories about his travels.

5. EvilRobot - cool kid, made a tough decision and we all respect you for it. Hope he keeps in touch or we will see him on the news with a new invention but we won't know it's him unless he names the invention evilrobot!

6. Vadad - gave me a lot of insight into UVA when my d was deciding where to go.

7. SoozieVT - we have a lot in common - and I feel like I know her girls via CC.

8. TheDad - always there for such great advice. Sorry we missed the Smith open house.

9. Sokkermom - we had some nice discussions about where our kids were ending up.

10. Tropicanabanana - just to apologize to her for coming down hard on her - something I needed to do - hope you accept my apology.
