I would like to know what "DS" is (mostly used by parents when talking about their kids). I know "D" is daughter and "S" is son (obviously), but I wasn't sure about "DS". If anyone could help me, that would be great!

I would think that the C in HYPSMC refers to columbia...maybe that's just an east coast thing?

DS, well if you're in the yale forum, DS most likely means Directed Studies...

DD is generally "darling daughter" or "dear daughter". DS is generally "darling son" or "dear son". H would be husband, and of course there is a similar variation of DH. W of course would be wife and there is the same variation. DS is the most used of these though.
