Hey guys, which are the best products for lightening the color of Asian hair? I don't really want any of that red color that many asian girls go for, I wanted something on the brownish side. Any suggestions??

If your hair is like jet black you are going to have to use a blond color so it comes out brown. Don't be afraid to use the blond dye, it will not turn out that color on black hair. I have used brown dyes and was scared to get anything lighter. My hair still looked very dark and it only looked brown in the sun. USE BLONDE. But test it on a strand to make sure it does not come out orangish on your hair.

i've heard some girls putting lemon juice in their hair...there is some technique (i guess you put it in while washing hair or something)
try to google this if you want real directions
the girls hair turned a brown, and almost a rust color in the sun.

I never tried it but it's more for girls with light brown/ blonde hair to get highlights. Don't know how it will turn out with black hair.
Yes black hair is very pretty. My mom gets mad when I keep dying it but I get bored with it and want to try something different.
plus my hair is getting white hairs. damn dad genes.

The lemon juice only works with people who already have naturally light hair.
Maybe you should go to a professional? It's hard to get to to the right brown, whenver I dye it red it always ends up being orange...that's what happens when you bleach it I guess.

be proud of your beautiful hair...

I would agree to be proud of your hair but I also understand that it is fun to do some thing different
Black hair must go through a spectrum of lightening before it goes blond. To get really dark hair a light color you must remove all color then add a toner, so it is a two step process best left to a proofessional.
But if you only want to lighten a few shades, I would suggest something that has peroxide in it but it considered level two lightening or semi permanent.
If you like the results you can always do it with more permanent colot.
lemon juice is not going to be noticeable.

Anyone watch real world?
I like Jaime's hair from San Diego.

I like Jaime in general. She's so happy.
yes, i learned to be proud of my hair the hard way. It used to be really nice, black and straight, and I had fun tying knots in it and watching them come undone automatically by themselves. Then I dyed it and now it's all brittle. But I have maybe three more inches left of it, so a year from now, I'll see healthy hair again!

This one girl has it short. It's like feathered out like if you saw how Rachel Leigh Cook looked in Josie and the Pussycats. It would look nice except she has like blonde streaks on top of black hair
???

Rachel Leigh Cook is ridiculously attractive, and her hair was pretty cool in that movie.
...Not that I watched Josie and the Pussycats...because I'm a big, macho guy...

I never watched the movie either, just saw the commercials. Her hair is long now.
