I'm bored, and a random thought just popped up in my mind: what messenger do you guys prefer? MSN, AIM, Yahoo, etc...there's also ichat which is AWESOME!

i used to use trillian, but then i got fed up with things not being compatible and switched to aim (w/dead aim)

I like MSN because you can talk through the computer mic to people (ACTUALLY TALK), but everyone has AIM, so I use that more.

The newest version of MSN is sexy but AIM's still more practical. Although, I do use both, and Yahoo, too, for its video links.

I used to really like Yahoo messanger, however they install spyware on your computer, and nobody uses it. To be honest I can't stand AIM, however until all of my friends start switching to another program, I'll be staying with AIM.

Generally people in bigger cities use AIM...and the smaller towns use MSN and Yahoo.

Yeah, I do.

First...go to "Edit Options" then go to "Edit Preferences" in the little window that pops up adjacent to "Edit Options". Click the FIFTH item on the left column where it says "IM/Chat". Click the button that says "Sounds". There you can disable all sounds by refusing to accept them and unchecking off all of the little boxes.

I live in south Florida where there's a huge Hispanic population, and I'm not kidding when I say that the majority uses MSN Messenger. The rest use AIM. I use mostly AIM but recently have taken up MSN part-time because that's all my boyfriend uses (he's Colombian ).

it's another form of instant messaging, but instead of usernames there's id numbers which are a pain to deal with. it's from the aohell people.
