Daughter entering telecommunications program at state college. They promote the use of Apple products for their graphics capabilities, even though she may not need until 4th or 5th sem. Should we get a desktop or laptop? If a laptop, an I-book or a Power Book. I do not know the difference. So confused. College is wireless except for the dorm rooms. They promote desktops in the dorm rooms, but why? Can take laptop with. Buy a cheapo desktop and invest in best later? T-com senior suggested getting the Mac now & getting used to it. Does anyone have any advice to help this mom?
