Does anyone here feel like they are smart and yet dumb at the same time. I feel as if am sooooooo challenged, meaning I lack any usable traces common sense, but everyone at school says I am smart. Even Ivy-bound kids. Anyone? Or am I just a crackhead?

When someone is trying to explain something to me I go blank. The ACT clearly displays how I'm not so good as I though I was. I do terrible at timed reading tests. Or when building new furniture, if the directions are just words and not drawings I'm lost. I'm good in math because I can just look at the numbers and figure out what is going on. I guess I'm more of a visual person.

Same here. Then again, my mom always told me that I lack any sort of common sense...so while I'm pretty book-smart, I'd die if I were stranded on a desert island.

People always tell me that I come across as being smart. But, when I tell them my GPA or test scores, they think I am an underachiever, which I am not. I try very hard, but am still "average." Maybe its just the way I carry myself--pretty mature and conservative.

people say im so smart and my grades and test scores are good...but i swear to god im dumb as hell. if i read something...i forget it seconds later. i started reading a novel, and 100 pages into it...i forgot the name of the main character! i can't remember anything from the classes i took last month. if someone tells me to do something, minutes later i forget.
one time i read the gas gauge on my car wrong. i though E menant Entire Tank.
