im straight edge by principles, but im not really into the music (i think thats how it started)

could you please explain what, exactly, straight-edge *is*? i've never understood why this label exists. i don't drink or do drugs or any of that, btw - is there more to it? i know that it's big in like the punk and emo "scenes", but yeah... i don't really know the history behind the term.

don't have promiscuous sex... some sXe believe it's no premarital sex at all... straight-edge came from hardcore and emo sort of evolved from straight-edge uhhh... i'm def. straight-edge principled but i don't believe in labeling myself. i don't like the way "being a scenester" has turned out...

yeah, alright. it's basically what i thought it was, then. i, too, am "straight-edge" in principle. but is that really so unique nowadays that it needs its own title?
