Of course, you need to take some time out to enjoy the misery of others. What are some pretty good pranks to pull on some people in your dorm, preferably, not life threatening.

Last night, my roommate and I switched our suitemates' closets, dressers, and beds with the other one's stuff. I know, it's simple and mild, but it was still funny when they found out. And trust me, it will grow to be more elaborate as the year goes on.

Do you know how to Short-Sheet a bed? That's always a favorite in my family.
Take the top sheet, fold it in half so half of it appears to be the bottom sheet. It has to look like a regular sheet when the victim goes to bed. It works best if the victim is going to bed really late and is very tired, then it takes them a few minutes to figure out why their legs don't reach to the bottom of the bed.
Let me know if this works with an Xtra long Twin (not that I would do this to MY room mate )

If you live in a place that has mattresses and box springs...

put the mattress on the bottom and the box spring on the top. Then carefully remake the bed as you found it. It's hilarious. I had someone sleep like that for 3 months, including changing the sheets! Finally went to the doctor who suggested a new bed...

One of the freshman Electrical Engineering courses @ my school required that we build a wein bridge oscillator (esentially a low volume siren). Anyhoo, last year I used my siren to make my roommate think his computer was malfunctioning. You don't have to build one, just find anything with a high pitched, low tone whistle and hide it somewhere near the victim's computer. I'll tell you it produces great results with some people.
