i'm seriously considering joining a sorority, what about you guys? are any of you considering joining a sorority or fraternity?

I'm not gonna join...I'm not desperate enough to pay for friends and I don't like drinking.

i don't really think it's paying for friends, it costs the same as living in a dorm or less. plus, it's not like as soon as you join you have friends, they might not like you.

what are the different aspects of non-residential fraternities or special interest fraternities compared to the traditional ones?

KFC, a non-residential fraternity is overpriced. Specialized ones are wonderful because they are comprised, generally of people who want to be there.

Just be careful which sorority you choose if you choose to do one. OU has uber amounts of no-hazing rules in place, and it still happens. One place actually has the girls line up in bras and underwear so they can circle 'fat' with sharpies. Then the girls are supposed to go to the gym and work on their imperfections.

I thought that kind of thing was sort of...not happening as much anymore. Guess I was wrong. Disgusting way to choose friends.
