HI there, iv got a mobile phone that I love and it's fine making international calls, but when I move to Los Angeles obviously I'll need to make local calls on it. So would you recommend buying a new sim card for it once i get out there? i dont wanna buy a completely new phone coz i love the one i already have and it cost me a fortune!! Do you guys have 'Pay as you go' sim cards out there, or are they all contract monthly payment agreements?

Pay As You Go isn't half as popular in the states, Virgin seems to be the main one to do that. Um, one big word of warning, they charge you for incoming calls over here. If I remember rightly (and I haven't been in the UK for a couple of years), we never had to pay for incoming calls. So that was a bit of a shock when I moved over.
Your average pay as you go phone over here'll require you to put in about $20 every 90 days to keep the account active I believe.
Even the contract phone plans kinda suck...ah well. Hope that helps.

SIM cards are avaliable through only 2 providers: T-Mobile and Cingular... Check their websites
