Anyone else here going to a smaller school or one that's not as well known as the common ones on here? I'm going to SDSU(no, not san diego state; South Dakota State University)and although it's the largest school in South Dakota, it's still somewhat of a small college. So anyone else in my boat?

I am going to Embry-Riddle. About 90% of the people who I have told have not heard of it. But, it is well-respected in the aerospace community. It's a very small school (1,600) in a small town (40,000).

I'm going to Lynchburg College. My school is also about 1600 students in a small city. There is both a good and bad side. It's more "personable" but I'm afraid it's going to be like high school with all the gossip and stuff.

I'm going to the University of St. Thomas (the one in Houston, TX, NOT Minnesota). Everyone in the Houston area knows about it...but it gets overshadowed by larger schools such as University of Houston (35,000 people!), or the newfound prestige of Rice. The school in total has about 5,000 people, but there are only 260-something undergrad freshman, and close to 1600 undergrads all together.

My school made it to the top 20 liberal arts colleges in the South in the US News colleges list (I've forgotten exactly what it's called), but nobody looks past the big 50, which is a shame. I'm looking forward to going, because it's very structured and I wholeheartedly believe I will recieve a better, more rounded education than anyone who goes to the "big" schools.

I went to a small school, and it felt like a high school. Maybe it's just me, but i know others feel the same also.

I got out, and this Fall im heading to NC State...a nice big school. I like this. ;)
