Get a Mac.

I own a Dell and will have it for 2 years. I am already in the early stages of getting a Powerbook G4.

By Pop123 (Pop123) on Friday, July 02, 2004 - 12:28 am: Edit

It is really debateable..my sister owns a powerbook G4 and i opted for an Inspiron XPS...while it may not be as pretty or as light..it really does outperform the g4 by a wide margin..People say to get an Apple because it cant get a virus and you cant mess it up bla blah blah...most of the problems people experience on PCs is out of THEIR OWN STUPIDITY...people when boxes come up and say will you like to install xxxx program lets try to click no :) also if people would attempt to keep their anti virus updated, not cancel their windows updates cause of the "annoying" reboot, and not open their attachments in email from people they dont even know the world would be a peachy place now wouldnt it =) ..but yes to each their own a powerbook G4 is by no stretch a crappy piece of machinery..i was just trying to help out those who are going to buy a dell anyway...

thanks for the coupon codes. :) i'm kinda new to computer shopping, so what do you mean by coupons "stacking"? does that mean that you can use all the coupons together only if you order by phone?

By Pop123 (Pop123) on Friday, July 02, 2004 - 10:04 am: Edit

if dell offers straight money off in the form of a rebate or instant rebate the % off coupons will work in conjunction with the $ off coupon...and vice versa

Mac Rules!

By Plinko (Plinko) on Wednesday, July 07, 2004 - 02:10 am: Edit

Pop123, how do you enter these coupon codes onto the Dell website when you configure and buy a system? And how can you get a college discount on an Inspiron laptop? And are these coupons instant discounts, i.e. if I get $225 off on a $2000 laptop, would that make the new price $1775 after I enter the coupon code?

By Plinko (Plinko) on Wednesday, July 07, 2004 - 03:30 am: Edit

^^^^ I actually figured it out (it's on the checkout page), but I entered the coupon code for an Inspiron 600m laptop that costs $1752, and it didn't work. I tried the one for $1999 laptops and up because I also ordered a $276 external hard drive as part of the system (it lists it seperate on the checkout page), but it still didn't work. Do these coupons still work? Where did you get these coupon codes from?

By City_Girl (City_Girl) on Wednesday, July 07, 2004 - 04:44 am: Edit

i was also wondering... can we use the online codes for phone orders? or do they have separate discounts only available by phone and discount codes specifically made for online orders?

thanks again.

Just curious, if you're buying a mouse for your notebook, does it specifically have to be a notebook mouse, or can it be any type of mouse around?
