i already drive a bimmer
(although its a 16 year old 5er which i got for 2400, but its a beast!)
but i would definitely go with the last made M5's.
the new BMW cars all have the iDrive thing
BUT mercedes does not offer sticks in their cool cars (amg) and their engines are turbocharged as opposed to naturally aspirated bmw!
so in conclusion, yeah BMW!

haha yeah right - Mercedes is the one that is now drawing from the parts bin of Chyrsler. I agree with Lyoha, the last M5 is the most beautiful piece of machinery ever.
BMW owns Mercedes - no valid sports car does not have three pedals, and mercedes doesn't make sticks.

well my mom has a BMW 325i and it is pretty nice. It handles so well. And I have a cheap acura, so I dont wanna hear anyone compare the two. BMW is a million times better. I'm not a fan of mercedes, in my opinion they are cheaper than BMWs

german cars are not very reliable. if some parts break, it costs so much to repair it. i'm definitely not going to get a german car now, but maybe later in life.

mercedes used to be reliable. They used to last forever. But since around 1995 they have really gone down in quality. Volkswagons as well are one of the worst in terms of reliability, and they used to be pretty good.
bmws are still reliable. jd power had them in the top 5 this year behind lexus, buick, and honda.

Three series is awesome for a teenager...only drawback is that I'm sure it's VERY popular at your school...don't you want to stand out?

7 series is nicer than the S. M5...enough said. V-10, 500bhp...7 gear SMG...so...beautiful...

VW's are actually very reliable. I own a 2003 Jetta Wolfsburg as my first car and it is extremely reliable.

I cannot say the same of Benz. My mom's C320 had to be recalled under the lemon law.

jag, one car out of thousands doesnt mean anything. VWs are the 5th worst out of the major brands in terms of reliability:

7-series is a technological marvel. You want naturally aspirated engines you go BMW. You want turbochared you go Mercedes. You want a sporty entry-luxury coupe take 3-series over C-class.

You want outdated looks you go Mercedes S-class. You like technology and aren't afraid to use it tkae 7-series.

I agree, it is a waste to spend so much money on a car unless it is really neccesary for your business or something. A car is a horrible investment also, its better to get a nice house which keeps or goes up in value.

But a used boring car ... a Honda Civic for example ... and use the extra money to
* Pay for flying lessons.
* Buy downhill skiing equipment and lessons
* Buy windsurfing lessons
* Buy scuba equipment and lessons
* Etc

There are so many cool things in life to experience .... make those bucks cover as much as possible!
