I'm a Junior right now, and I have known for a while that I am going across the country for college (From NJ to West coast), and will be dorming.

So some questions on dorming and college life-
1) If I have a car, should I bring it with me to college? Or should I sell it before I leave and use the money I get to buy a car when I get there?
2) How is a roommate determined? Is it random? Can I pick? What if I'm stuck with someone completely opposite of me?
3) How is life in a dorm room? I'm going from living in a house to living in a dorm room.
4) And if anyone has done what I'm planning, moving far far away from home because you don't like home, how has it worked out for you?

2)yes, yes, talk to RA
3)very small but worth it
4)I'm leaving in August to a school where I don't know a soul. Optimism is the key.
