Does anyone know if NYU, University of Washington, University of Chicago, and Northwestern are gay friendly schools? I'm from Chicago and used to being open and free

Go to google.com and type in "gay friendly campuses". You'll get sites that can give you specific information. Sorry I can't help any more than that.

Seattle is a very friendly( ok polite) place. For some reason the James Dobson group rented Safeco to have a "save marriage from the gays" rally, and at least 2,500 protesters lined the streets outside.( and a marching band)

NYC of course is very diverse can't speak to Michigan but your best bet would be to contact GLBT groups on campus.
