When's everyone gonna start shopping for stuff for their dorm? I heard get some things early b/c there's a mad rush during the summer...true? Im like, so excited i wanna start tomorrow :o)

Aww, your so lucky. I want to go to college. I still have a year.
All I could tell you, is that going now would probably be a good idea. It would be better that way, so later on during the summer you might rememeber something you wanted/needed, and you can pick it up ahead of time. But if you decide to wait, make an organized list of everything you want/need (Which can be just as fun as buying the stuff, LOL) and then buy stuff little by little. That way you wont have to worry about buying a million things at once. It would be less stressful. Also, the list will end up getting smaller eventually, b/c later you might decide that you really dont want a certain thing and you'll end up saving some money.

Though, like I was saying in the beggining, if your the type who likes to get it done in one shabang, then I would start somewhere in the middle of July, or even now. That way it's not too close, nor too far away from the actual college kids shopping time.

Hope I helped. Good luck with everything. :)

I've already started accumulating stuff for my dorm. If things are on sale or in stock now, take advantage. By the way, I found an excellent off to college list at collegeboard.com

Buying stuff for your room is SO much fun! I've always gone to Target or Walmart or some place similar, because you can find great deals and some really cool things =-) as for posters, I recommend www.allposters.com

By Eyesclozedtight (Eyesclozedtight) on Sunday, May 02, 2004 - 06:31 pm: Edit

woudln't you want to wait to talk to your room mate so you can get stuff together and not get the same things?

By Woogiewilly25 (Woogiewilly25) on Sunday, May 02, 2004 - 06:58 pm: Edit

well obviously im gonna wait on the big things...tv and such...but i just mean like, bed stuff, posters...my own personal stuff you know?

I don't get it. How is shopping fun? I have to buy stuff for my dorm and I am really not looking forward to wasting my time shopping. I think I might just ask my mom to shop for all the crap I need.

By Pipettewolf (Pipettewolf) on Sunday, May 02, 2004 - 07:20 pm: Edit

basically, just look for good deals in the ads for stuff that you know you need to buy for college and just store it somewhere.

only non-perishables of course.

there are always 'back to school' and 'going to college' sales in the late summer. if $$ is an issue, you may want to wait for the sales.

ok, i'm bringing my own tv and fridge, there's no way i'm sharing with my roommate, she can bring her own! maybe the fridge, but definitely not the tv, because i HAVE to have the TV to myself Sunday nights so I can watch Alias. what if she wants to watch something else? yeah, not good. :P

By Daffodil22 (Daffodil22) on Sunday, May 02, 2004 - 09:12 pm: Edit

Well Demonllama, I HAVE to watch American Dreams on Sunday nights. I hope we're not roomates. LOL.

By Woogiewilly25 (Woogiewilly25) on Sunday, May 02, 2004 - 09:12 pm: Edit

American dreams then Sopranos...all about it

By Demonllama (Demonllama) on Sunday, May 02, 2004 - 09:26 pm: Edit

well American Dreams is at 8 and Alias is on at 9, so we'd be fine ;)

By Ticklemepink (Ticklemepink) on Sunday, May 02, 2004 - 10:25 pm: Edit

I love American Dreams too!!! I am soooo scared of what's going to happen to Meg and JJ! JJ's too hot to be killed!

I am debating on my tv. Fridge.. if there's room, hell yeah.

TV- yes! I'm not sure about a DVD player though. My laptop will have one, so will I need one connected to the TV, or should I just watch movies on my laptop. DVD players don't take up a ton of space. Is it a waste?

im going to ucsb in fall and i know you have to pay for cable. Would i have the basic channels, like fox, wb, nbc, included for free? All they said was that you have to pay for cable.

By Jadesark (Jadesark) on Monday, May 03, 2004 - 05:57 pm: Edit

I know, it really pisses me off. I don't remember there being so many "breaks" the last two season. There;s already been like three 5 week "breaks" this year. I hate that.

By Demonllama (Demonllama) on Monday, May 03, 2004 - 06:55 pm: Edit

seriously. ABC's screwing over their best show. How do they expect new viewers to tune in if the episodes are on sporadically? Silly monkeys.

And1baller, yup, those are all in basic Santa Barbara Cable. I believe you get 70 channels, or so.
